Hi, my name is Mike Rutenbar, and I am the Environmental Education Director. I began working at summer camp during college and immediately fell in love with the enthusiasm and excitement of camp life. When I graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in zoology, I was looking for a field that combined my love of the environment and my enthusiasm for camp. I found that environmental education was the perfect profession for me. I have been working in environmental education since 2005 and have loved every moment of it. Now, being at Edwards since 2011, I feel that I have been able to grow the program and share my love for our natural world with all of the campers who visit.
In my free time I enjoy exploring the outdoors, reading books, relaxing with friends, and hanging out with my wife Katie and dog Adalae.
